The apostle Paul writes that God finds special pleasure when His followers live generously.

II Corinthians 9:7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (NASB)

Be intentional about what you give. The amount is not important, but the attitude of giving is of great importance to God! As you begin to live generously . . . you’ll experience God’s pleasure, and that will bring you joy!

When I first got a job and began to give regularly, I read this verse and found satisfaction when, long before Sunday, I had set aside my gift.  There was no doubt about how much . . . God had spoken to me and I was giving in obedience.  When the offering plate came around there was no frantic digging in the wallet for an amount that seemed right, no last minute decisions.  I gave confidently and gladly a portion of that which God had given me.
