The apostle Peter writes of the hope of every Christ-follower.

I Peter 1:4  . . . and we have a priceless inheritance -- an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  (NLT)

The hope of every Christ-follower is that this world is not all there is, and that you were created for something much more -- something eternal!  What you do in this life will impact your existence in the next life.  The Bible calls on Christ-followers to, everyday, store up treasures in heaven.

Specifically, the apostle Peter says that as a follower of Christ, adopted into the family of God, you have an inheritance -- just as if you were a natural-born child!  John Gill wrote, "it is . . . a large estate, and rich possession . . ."  It is something wonderful God has prepared for you!  That inheritance is not in some earthly bank or vault . . . it is kept for you by God, in pristine condition, until you are called home to heaven.  No con artist, no swindler, no clever thief can touch the inheritance God has in store for His children.
