The unknown author writes of the importance of growing in your faith.

Hebrews 5:14  Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.  (NLT)

It's difficult being around someone with unusual gifting, great potential, and the maturity of a 2 year old!  When you are "born" into the family of God there is the expectation of normal growth.  A Christ-follower who is constantly being told what the Bible says without learning how to search the Scriptures for themselves -- never develops into a mature Christian.

A full-grown Christian should be able to read and understand the Bible and discern what to do and what not to do.  The Bible won't tell you if you should go to a certain movie or not, but it will give you principles to evaluate the reviews of the movie and determine if it will build you up or tear you down.  The Bible won't specifically tell you how to run a successful landscaping business, but it does it does outline principles of financial management and other truths related to partnerships that will help you avoid pitfalls.
