The writer of Hebrews explains how to live a life of impact for God.

Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. (NASB)

This verse should be the profile of every Christ-follower.  Work at living in peace with those around you.  Don't make everything all about you!  What does the next part of the verse mean?  One Bible scholar said the word for "holiness" speaks of something being used for "it's proper use."  Here's what that looks like:  when you mess up . . .  humble yourself, confess your sin and move on for the Lord.

Next, every day start with a fresh infusion of heavenly strength that God provides.  If you ask for it, God promises to give you the strength to do anything He wants you to do!  When you live this way, day after day, you are walking through life in a close, dependent relationship with Christ.  That is the "holiness"  without which "no one will see" (or enjoy the welcome presence of) God.

Good morning. Thank-you so much for the daily verse, and your commentary. I start every day with it. I also put it on my time line, from your facebook page, along with the picture. Is Justin on vacation? There haven't been any pictures, and verses this week. If you aren't doing the facebook verses anymore could you make a way for us to post it right from this page? Of course maybe it can be done, and I just don't know how. Thank-you again for all that you are doing at Family Life.
