Moses details God’s call of faith to Abraham to establish the nation of Israel.

Genesis 12:1-2 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation,  (NASB)

It’s certainly human nature to want to know “why” we are asked to do something. However, when you’re dealing with the Lord’s commands, faith is a vital component. The Bible makes it clear without faith it is impossible to please God.

Abraham was not a Christ-follower when God called him to be the father of Israel – but when God called -- Abraham obeyed and left his home not knowing exactly what God had in mind. When Abraham obeyed, it was an act of faith and Scripture says it was counted unto him for righteousness.
