The apostle Paul encourages responsible living in the freedom found in Christ.

Galatians 5:13  For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters.  But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature.  Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.  (NLT)

One of the great blessings of placing your trust in Christ's death on the cross to save you from your sins -- is it places you into the body of Christ and frees you from slavery to sin!  However, sometimes because of a history with certain kinds of sin -- other Christ-followers set voluntary limits on their behavior that are not specifically listed in the Bible.  Just because some Christ-followers feel it better not to engage in certain things, does not mean others cannot.

Legalism -- is when Christ-followers make rules for others that are not found in Scripture.  Often, it comes about because you feel living a certain way is good for you . . . so it must be good for everybody else -- not so!  Christ-followers have been called to live in freedom, but be careful not to flaunt your freedom in the face of a brother with a weaker conscience.  Liberty means the privilege of serving others by showing love.
