The apostle Paul writes of the spiritual vitality that results from taking in God's truth.

Colossians 2:7  Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him.  Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.  (NLT)

Having accepted Christ's death on the cross as payment for your sins and becoming a child of God . . . you are to grow in your faith!  But how do you grow?  Here, the apostle Paul uses a metaphor of plants and says sink your roots deep into God's truth as found in the Bible.

When you became a Christ-follower you were made part of Him.  Now it's time to grow deeper in the knowledge of His truth by which you "bulk up" in your spiritual strength!  The result is a strong "root system" not easily subject to harsh temperatures or drought.  Finally, as you feel your spiritual stamina increasing -- don't forget to thank the One who made it possible!
