The apostle Paul declares Jesus to be the Divine sin-bearing Substitute for mankind.

2 Corinthians 5:21 [God] made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (NASB)

The grim part about sin is that one way or another someone . . . or Someone has to die!  This is where the world received a master-class in humility.  First, Christ agrees to be the Sin-bearer for your sins.  Secondly, He humbles Himself to become human -- quite a come-down from the throne of Heaven!  Thirdly, He is falsely accused, falsely tried and falsely convicted -- by the very religious leaders who should have been looking for His coming!

But death could not hold Him, and having paid your sin penalty -- He now offers forgiveness, entrance into His family, strength for today and the hope of heaven -- "for whoever believes in Him."  (For more on believing:  go to fln.org, and "click" on the box that asks, "Do you know Jesus?")  Happy New Year!
