World War 2 Pinup Dies As A Devout Christian
03.01.11 |
A world-famous World War 2 pin-up has died. Not many know, though, that after Jane Russell left Hollywood, she accepted Christ. The brunette was best known for her first film, put out in 1943, called 'The Outlaw.' She had roles in over 20 Hollywood films, then became a Christian gospel recording artist. She said she rebounded from troubles by relying on lessons she learned from her mother. "Without faith, I never would have made it," she commented a few months after her third husband's death. "I don't know how people can survive all the disasters in their lives if they don't have any faith, if they don't know the Lord loves them and cares about them and has another plan." Russell died Monday at the age of 89, of respiratory failure.
