The protesters shouted "students first" along with other chants as they hoisted signs defending temporary faculty, fair negotiations, and students and declaring their unwillingness to sacrifice quality by giving in to some of the system's cost-saving demands.

Talks between the sides are set to resume October 14th through the 16th in an effort to reach an agreement before 5 a.m. October 19th--the strike deadline that the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties have set.
