Wegman's Issues Massive Recall
02.03.12 |
Wegman's is warning it's shoppers of a major product recall. The food chain is recalling hard-cooked eggs, as well as prepared salads, deli trays and subs that contain har-cooked eggs. The recall includes products sold between January 23rd and February 1st. Wegman's officials say the recall is a result of another recall by Minnesota-based Michael Foods, which produces the cooked eggs at their Nebraska facility. The eggs could potentially be contaminated with Listeria, which can cause serious injury and potentially fatal infections in children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems. Short-term symptoms include fever, severe headaches, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The products were bought at Wegmans' stores in Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, Corning, Elmira, Hornell, Geneseo, Newark and Geneva. At this point, there have been no confirmed reports of illness in connection with these products. Officials say YOU SHOULD NOT EAT THESE PRODUCTS - JUST THROW THEM AWAY. If you bought any of these products, you can go to a Wegman's store for a full refund.
