01.13.11 |
Vanderbilt University is illegally requiring nursing residents to sign a pledge requiring them do to abortions in Nashville, Tennessee. The Alliance Defense fund filed a complaint this week with the Department of Health and Human Services asking them to look into it. The form the students are required to fill out states they will have to care for women undergoing termination of pregnancy, and if they are not comfortable, the college encourages them to find another track. Vanderbilt recieves 300-million-dollars in federal cash each year-- and federal law prohibits grant recipients from forcing students or health care workers to participate in abortions contrary to their religious beliefs or moral convictions.
