U.S. House Introduces Bill To Protect Christians and Others From HHS Mandate

A bill introduced in the U.S. House would protect those threatened by hefty fines under the HHS mandate in the new health care law, the Affordable Care Act. Testimony was given Tuesday. Sister Jane Marie Kline, a Catholic nurse, says a hospital forced her to assist in an abortion. She says "the mandate is in direct opposition to our religious beliefs. We cannot, we will not, compromise."

It is possible that the bill may be bundled with the federal budget Congress must pass this month to keep the government running.
