Noah Pereira from Clarkson, New York, in the Fingerlakes, won the Junior Iditarod this past weekend. The 16-year-old is a dog handler for Iditarod champ Dallas Seavey. He won the 150 mile dogsled race, beating the second place finisher, Conway Seavey, by a full four minutes. He also beat out five-time champ Egil Ellis, and last year’s champion Ken Chezik. He will next race in the Open North American Championship, or ONAC, in Fairbanks next month.
