The University of Maryland School of Medicine will begin testing the trial vaccine for the swine flu today. The school hopes to test the vaccine on 67 young adults and senior citizens over the coming weeks. If it's proven to be safe, the vaccine will then be tested on children. The University of Maryland is the lead center for the trials, which are taking place nationwide. Health officials hope to have a vaccine ready for mass distribution by the fall. Last week, Maryland health officials reported the state's fifth death from the H1N1 virus.
