United Way Launches Donation Drive For Flood Victims
03.30.09 |
The Red River may have stopped short of causing widespread devastation to homes and businesses in some of eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota's largest communities, but the United Way says many people will need help once the waters recede.
United Way of Cass-Clay president Judy Green says they are launching a donation drive to collect funds for people to recover once government aid and private insurance is exhausted. Green says many rural residents have seen flood waters damage their homes.
Hundreds of people remain evacuated as the Red River slowly recedes. People can donate by visiting the United Way of Cass-Clay's website at uwcc.net.
