Toyota Suspends Sales Of Eight Models
01.27.10 |
Following massive recalls because of sticking gas pedals, Toyota is now suspending sales of eight vehicle models. The unprecedented move comes after the automaker recalled two-point-three million cars and trucks to fix the problem. Toyota said the suspension is temporary as the company works to finalize a remedy for the gas pedal problem. At the same time, the automaker will shut down North American production in Canada, Indiana, Kentucky and Texas due to the suspension, but will not shut down any other plants. Toyota officials said Lexus and Scion vehicles are not affected. Other models which are not included in the suspension are the Toyota Prius, Tacoma, and Camry hybrids.
Toyota is suspending sales on the following models:
2009-2010 RAV4
2009-2010 Corolla
2009-2010 Matrix
2005-2010 Avalon
Certain 2007-2010 Camry
2010 Highlander
2007-2010 Tundra
2008-2010 Sequoia
