The Steel City celebrates the BD of a retired usher

04.30.18 | Sarah Harnisch

Retired usher Phil Coyne turned 100 on Friday, and the Pittsburgh Pirates threw a huge party.

He was honored before the game against Saint Louis.

Phil has been an usher since 1936.

He did take some time away, while fighting for his country in WWII, but then it was back at it.

His uniform is heading to Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame.

What's the secret to his old age? He says two Oreos and a glass of milk!

The Pirates estimate Phil has worked over 6,000 games in his career.
