It was on display all day yesterday in Williamsport.

At 114 feet wide and 60 feet high, it's the largest free-flying American flag.  Each star is four feet from tip to tip; each stripe, five feet wide. It took 175 volunteers to get it off the ground. The flag was lifted by two cranes along the riverfront in Williamsport.

After borrowing the flag from a VFW post in North Carolina in 1998, a group of investors bought it to display once a year.
