The heat wave comes in the midst of a drought in New York state and it's putting a strain on cash crops.

Jim Allen, President of the New York State Apple Association, says the lack of rain hurts the yield and production.

And the drought is also putting the kibosh on river-rafting in Letchworth State Park.

The owner of a local rafting business says he hasn't seen the Genesee River this low in almost twenty years.  Kevin Kretchmer says a business dependent on water just can't run without rain.
