The Earth May Have Had 2 Moons

The earth may have originally had 2 moons at creation-- not one. Scientists are suggesting that an early collision of two moons that once orbited earth may have shaped the present-day moon.  They say the theory explains why the moon is a bit lopsided and its far side is rockier than the surface facing the earth.  Research published in the journal "Nature" that the early moon was shadowed by a smaller one as they circled the earth, before the collision.
