Teens Will Now Need Written Permission To Pierce In NY

Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill Monday that requires parents to give written permission in order for a minor to obtain a body piercing. Under the new law, anyone under 18 years old will have to get written permission from their parents or legal guardians before piercing anything on their bodies.  Cuomo says about 20-percent of all piercings result in and infection, and he says this bill will reduce infections and the spread of blood-borne diseases.The bill goes into effect in 90 days.
