Survivor Says Confusion Let To The Deaths of 3 In Bolivar, NY Fire
08.22.12 |
We are learning more about the fire in Bolivar that took the lives of a grandmother and 2 of her grandkids. Firefighters are still trying to figure out the cause of the blaze, but they say they arrived on the scene 12 minutes after the 9-1-1 call was made, and the house was already so engulfed they could not get inside. Within minutes, the second floor collapsed onto the first. 62-year-old Terry Green said he and his girlfriend Tina Kemp only had the 3 grandkids for a few days. The children's mother was in prison, their father, staying with friends hours away. He said there was confusion in the moments after they awoke. A toddler who was in the doorway ran off, and he says it was likely that rescue that cost Kemp and 2 of the children their lives.
