Sunscreen is no longer banned in public schools in New York. The State Education Department has ruled kids can apply sunscreen at school activities without a note from their doctor, as long as a parent provides written permission. Previously, the state board had ruled sunscreen was a drug. The ruling will impact thousands of fall sports teams across the state that start practice August 13th.
