Still No Decision on Gay Marriage in New York

There was chaos on Monday in Albany, New York State concerning traditional marriage versus gay marriage. One by one, speakers got up and defended what they believed in. "This is not about right and left. It's about right and wrong," one supporter of traditional marriage said. "Marriage is an honorable state, not created by government but founded in nature and in God's nature."

Though lawmakers worked late into the night, there was no decision made allowing gay marriage in New York State yesterday. Senate Leader Dean Skelos met behind closed doors with the Governor and Sheldon Silver. They were strengthening the protections for religious groups in the bill with the hope of swaying three undecided Republican lawmakers. "Whenever you're talking there's always progress," he says. "This is really the first three-way leader's meeting we've had in a while."

Everyone is coming back to work today, saying they will stay until they have voted "yay" or "nay", even if it takes till Wednesday or Thursday.
