The U.S. State Department for the first time has opened a full inquiry into whether security was adequate at the U.S. Consulate in Libya in the days and hours leading up to the assassination of Ambassador Chris Stevens. Hillary Clinton today pledged a full investigation. A U.S. House Committee says the State Department was warned 13 times, some six months before the deadly attack on our consulate in Libya that security was lacking. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will grill senior State Department officials over the security lapse next week. Republicans have accused the Obama administration of being unprepared for the terrorist attack by Muslim extremists, then allegedly issuing misinformation about it. Initially, the administration suggested the attack was spontaneous, sparked by an anti-Islamic video.
