Southern Tier Band Trying To Get To London To Perform For The Queen
12.27.10 |
The poor weather could be impacting a Southern Tier band that's on their way to play for the Queen of England. Corning West High School Marching Band is slated to appear in the Silver Anniversary New Year's Day Parade for the queen. They decided to leave at 5 a.m., to gain a few extra hours travel time in the event of weather-related slowdowns around snow-inundated New York City. Band Director Eric Griffin says they're prepared to make adjustments to the intinerary in london, in case there are any delays in departure from New York. And with the airport totally shut down, that's what it looks is going to happen.
It's not every say an upstate New York band is asked to play for the Queen of England!
