South Carolina Wants The Unemployed To Volunteer

There's an interesting bill in the works in South Carolina, where the Senate is working on legislation that would require some people to perform volunteer service to keep getting unemployment benefits.  The measure would apply to people who have been out of work for more than six months.  It would require them to do volunteer work 16 hours a week to continue collecting unemployment checks.  They would have to volunteer at a city or county government agency or at schools.
