Soldier Booed At Columbia University
02.22.11 |
Anthony Maschek is a wheelchair-bound Purple Heart recipient who was shot 11 times during his time in Iraq. But he was hissed at and booed when he appeared February 15th during a town hall meeting at Columbia University. Maschek was speaking in favor of having an R.O.T.C. program at the school. Columbia hasn't had a program for 42 years. Maschek is a freshman at the university. But when he got up to talk about why he believes in America's troops-- the unbelieving crowd heckled him. Here is a link to the video.
There is no word on whether or not the school will approve that R.O.T.C. program, but they did get a chance to see a very brave soldier.
