A man that police say shot six officers is in custody after an 8-hour ordeal.

Two police officers were trapped in the house for hours before they were safely freed, along with three others, by SWAT officers.

Police Commissioner Richard Ross says, "the prisoners that were in there were unharmed."

It started Wednesday afternoon when cops were serving a drug warrant.

All six officers have been released from the hospital.

Mayor Jim Kenney says the important part is everyone is alright.

Temple University locked down part of its campus, and several children and staff were trapped for some time in a nearby day care during the standoff.
