School Choice bill Debated in Harrisburg

12.05.11 | Bob Price

Republican Jeff Piccola wants tax-payer funded vouchers for students in Pennsylvania's lowest-achieving schools.  The money would allow them to attend the public or private school of their choice.
There's also an effort underway to overhaul school boards and make them more like corporate boards with the power to furlough teachers during tough economic times.
The state senate has approved both measures.
