Russian Spies Leave The United States

(New York, NY) -- Ten accused Russian spies pled guilty at a hearing on Thursday in federal court in lower Manhattan. The ten suspects pled guilty to conspiring to act as secret Russian agents in the U.S. They received no jail time and were instead sentenced to time serve, which amounts to the eleven days they've spent behind bars since their arrests on June 27th. Separate charges of money-laundering were dismissed. The ten were ordered deported from the U.S. and television images later showed some of them boarding a flight out of New York's LaGuardia Airport.
Meanwhile, officials have confirmed the U.S. and Russia began talking about swapping the ten suspects for four spies being held in Russia soon after the ten were nabbed in an FBI sting last week. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said in an interview on PBS that President Obama had been "fully informed" about the swap.
