The Republican who cast the last vote for gay marriage in New York is out. Veteran State Senator Steven Saland's defeat means 3 of the 4 Republicans who cast crucial votes for gay marriage in 2011 won't be returning to the Senate. Saland's concession ends a long count of absentee ballots in the Senate race. Democrat Terry Gipson won the 41st Senate district race by just 2-thousand votes.
