Report: Gosselin Reality Show To End After November, TLC Sues Jon Gosselin
10.19.09 |
The Gosselin family drama is reportedly coming to an end -- at least on television. According to the "New York Post," TLC will stop filming new episodes of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" next month. This, after Jon Gosselin slapped the network with a cease and desist order regarding filming his and his estranged wife Kate's eight children for the show. Citing sources, the "Post" says the network will try to push out a few remaining episodes from existing footage before putting the show to bed -- for good. Meantime, TLC is taking legal action against Jon Gosselin, filing a lawsuit against the reality TV dad for breach of contract. According to usmagazine.com, TLC claims Gosselin violated his "contractual exclusivity" by making lucrative deals with "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Insider." The network also accuses Gosselin of selling "photographic rights to various media outlets."
Gosselin's attorney called the contract "unenforceable and unconscionable," accusing TLC of treating Jon Gosselin, quote, "like a dog by attempting to keep him on a leash and muzzle him and deny the father of eight the opportunity to earn a livelihood to support his family."
