A winter weather advisory in western New York also continues.

Some are waking up to as much as 24 inches of new snow, while most others are seeing a dusting across New York and Pennsylvania.

The wind is the major concern as it could bring temperatures to 20 below in the western portions of our listening area.

Buffalo set a record low temperature for New Year's day at -4.  The previous low was zero in 1970.

Meanwhile, the continued inclement conditions have prompted the Erie School District to cancel school today.

Classes are expected to resume Wednesday after crews have had an extra day to plow side streets and sidewalks which aren't where school officials would like them to be yet.
