PUSH Physical Theatre
02.08.10 |
Get ready for a show with some serious "wow-factor!" On March 12, 13, and 20, Family Life will present PUSH Physical Theater in three locations. This group is a fresh and unusual company of performers that inspire hope, strength, and optimism through the power of the human body.
You'll be astounded at what they can do! PUSH will move your heart by telling stories through physical interpretations, including dance, mime, acrobatics, and abstract forms of movement. They rely entirely on the human body to express the complexities of human emotion, and as masters of nonverbal expression, will leave you curious and amazed as to why certain movements affect people in such personal ways. For example, why a certain comical head tilt suddenly appears tragic with a slight shift in the neck. The language of movement is often times far more honest and compelling than even the most beautifully crafted words.
PUSH got their start in Rochester, and now being a national theater company, has performed hundreds of shows across the United States, England, and Mexico. Their unconventional artistic process can be viewed at www.myspace.com/pushtheatre. This is where the online community can voice opinions, perspectives, and ideas that eventually influence the finished work. How cool is that?
