Primary Day is here New York !
06.26.12 |
Turnout is expected to be low since it's the first time New York has held its Congressional primaries in June in over 30 years. In one of the more noteworthy races, Congressman Charles Rangel will be fighting to hold onto his seat. The 82-year-old Harlem Democrat and former chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee is up against four challengers as he runs for a 22nd term in a new 13th Congressional District. Also, a 3-way GOP primary will decide who gets to take on Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for her seat in the November election. Polls in most counties are open from noon until 9 pm.
