A court case that started in Greece, New York may be heard in the U.S. Supreme Court. The Christian legal firm Alliance Defending Freedom has asked the high court to hear the case of a religious freedom lawsuit over prayers used to start the Greece Town Board meetings. Last May, the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled in favor of two Greece residents, saying the town's practice of inviting clergy from Christian churches only, and not other faiths, violated the First Amendment, because it could be construed as a government endorsement of one religion. The town supports the appeal.
