Pittsburgh Mayor Asks For Review of 911 Center
04.08.09 |
The Pittsburgh mayor has called for a review of the Allegheny County 911 center after it was revealed a call taker failed to tell police that Richard Poplawski had access to weapons. Poplawski faces multiple charges for reportedly using an assault rifle to kill Officers Paul Sciullo, Stephen Mayhle, and Eric Kelly.
Mayor Luke Ravenstahl says the center's management has to figure out what went wrong and make "necessary changes. Ravenstahl also says the center has saved plenty of lives but should have told officers that Poplawski had weapons. Call center officials says the person who took the 911 call has been placed on administrative leave.
