The Steel City's proposing a new measure to reduce gun violence.

It comes two months after 11 people were killed by a mass shooter at the Tree of Life Synagogue.

The governor says he supports this effort to ban military-style weapons.

Courts would also the power to take guns deemed a danger to themselves or others.

Gun rights activists say this proposal is misguided and illegal.

Pennsylvania law expressly says municipalities are not permitted in any manner to regulate the ownership of lawful firearms.
