Pennsylvania's "Year Of The Bible" Declaration Under Protest

01.31.12 | Sarah Harnisch

The Pennsylvania State House unanimously declared 2012 as the "Year of the Bible", but the declaration doesn't come without some controversy. House Resolution 535 is similar to legislation passed by the U.S. House and Senate to allow President Ronald Reagan to declare 1983 as the "Year of the Bible" at the national level. The bill's sponsor said it serves as a reminder that we have to look at God and His word to give us courage and wisdom. The Freedom From Religion Foundation is already protesting, calling the bill unconstitutional. They say it violates the separation of church and state, and are calling on non-believers and skeptics to express their opposition. If you want to counter their protest and show your support, below is the contant information to the Pennsylvania House Speaker and House Minority Leader.
