Penn State Sets Up Hotline To Report Abuse
11.29.11 |
In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal that occured on college grounds, Penn State has set up a new assault hotline that's open around the clock. They say it's a way for victims and people who witness attacks to get in touch with all the services the university offers. The phone number is 1-800-550-7575.
The college has also officially launched a 6-person committee to find a new head coach to replace Joe Paterno.
Former Penn State Assistant Football Coach Jerry Sandusky has now hired a private investigator to do his own probe. He's been charged with 40 counts of abuse of 8 boys over 15 years. Also, the charity for at-risk kids he founded-- "The Second Mile"-- said Monday it will likely be shutting down. They encouraged people to donated to other charities instead.
