Paul Ryan Stomps In PA

Paul Ryan made a brief stop in Pennsylvania. It was brief, but noteworthy. The Republican 'number two' spoke to an enthsiastic crowd of 500 at a hangar near the Pittsburgh airport Saturday, mentioning the importance of coal mining and jobs. He also made some comments designed to appeal to Pennsylvanians. He said quote "after this election, my daughter is 10 years old. She gets to shoot her first deer this year." There was roaring applause from the crowd. Democrats called Ryan's visit a fly-by, but Obama's number 2, Joe Biden, hasn't been to the state recently, save a brief speech at the 9-11 memorial in Shanksville. Romney trailed Obama by just 4 points in a Quinnipiac poll last week. There have been no signs of a new Romney advertising push in Pennsylvania, but the Obama camp said it didn't know of any plans for a Keystone state push, either, during the last 2 weeks of this campaign.
