Paterson Wants Changes to Educational Grants

New York's governor wants to change the rules about how you can get grants for college. Thousands of students who get grants through the Tuition Assistance Program could be affected.

Under the current format, you are classified as a full time student if you are taking 12 credit hours worth of courses. Paterson may propose students take 15 credit hours to get that full time status. The governor is also proposing the minimum grade point average for grants be bumped from 1.1 to 1.8.
