P.A. To Help Towns Turn Over Foreclosed Homes

11.12.12 | Sarah Harnisch

Pennsylvania has a new law to help clean up neighborhoods filled with empty, foreclosed homes. The law, signed late last month by Governor Corbett, allows local governments to take control of blighted properties and cancel tax liens and bank foreclosures so the land can be sold to responsible owners. It streamlines the Land Bank Act to return delinquent properties to town tax rolls. Moe then 300-thousand vacant properties are scattered across the state.
