 And as part of the bill approval process, state lawmakers got to take a Tesal on the road to ensure its safety. The Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee approved the bill, 13-1. The bill's sponsor says Pennsylvania's law prohibits manufacturers like Tesla from also acting as a vehicle dealer. To allow Tesla to sell directly to consumers in Pennsylvania, the bill would allow an electric-vehicle manufacturer to sell its cars under certain conditions, including that it deals exclusively in its own brand.
