PA Supreme Court throws out the congressional district map

In a four-to-three vote, the court ruled the 2011 redistricting violates the state constitution.

Democratic Lieutenant Governor Mike Stack welcomes the ruling.

Republican U.S. Congressman Glenn Thompson, calls the ruling political, and notes the congressional districts were based on past census numbers.

Counsel to Senate Republicans, Drew Crompton, says paperwork is being prepared to block the ruling.  He expects the stay to be before the U.S. Supreme Court by week's end.

Lawmakers are scrambling to redraw the map in time for a February 9th deadline.
