The roll out comes as the nation's attorney general, Jeff Sessions roll backs an Obama-era hands-off approach to marijuana-friendly states.

While Governor Tom Wolf is vowing to protect new medical marijuana patients, it's unclear how the decision will affect the program.

More than 6,000 patients are now registered for medicinal marijuana in Pennsylvania.

The state health department says its on track for full implementation of the law by the spring of this year.
