Karen Gaffney, the first person with Down syndrome to swim the English Channel, says people who have defied the odds "are living and contributing in the communities where they live."

House Speaker Mike Turzai, Monday, unveiled the House version of a bill that would make it illegal for a doctor to perform an abortion solely because the fetus has Down syndrome. He says "every life is worth living and has dignity."

Republican Senator Scott Martin unveiled a similar Senate bill Monday.

Supporters say they're protecting those with disabilities.

The ACLU in Ohio filed a lawsuit against the law there and called it unconstitutional.
