Over One-Million High Chairs Recalled

Over one-million Graco Harmony high chairs are being recalled due to the possibility they could fall or tip over unexpectedly. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the high chairs are made with screws on the front legs that can loosen or fall out. The CPSC also says the plastic bracket on the rear legs can crack and cause the chair to become unstable. Graco says nearly 500 reports of screws loosening or chairs tipping over have been received. Injuries from the malfunctions have included bumps and bruises to children's heads and bodies. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the chairs and to contact Graco for a free repair kit.
The recall affects all Harmony high chairs manufactured from November 2003 through December of last year. The chairs were sold from December 2003 through this month at prices between 70-dollars to 120-dollars. Retailers included Target, Toys "R" Us, Walmart and USA Baby. The chairs were made in the U.S.
